Kasi Lami Art platform (KLAP) have released their debut studio album called ‘Hip hop Mosaic’ (induced Drag)’ produced by p2daoh.
Hip-hop Mosaic the album features John (SCI) Robin- son (California), Kapital K Zimbabwean emcee based in (SA), Ifani (SA), Psykoteck (Bulawayo), Alaina (Bulawayo vocalist), Top Dawg, Khethiwe and Phill D (SA Idols 2010 finalist). Production features have Thexy and Osmic (Ace of Spades) on the beatbox. KLAP family emcees on the album include Lady Thug (female emcee), 2Dope, Fresh T, Pozee younga97 (KNV) kwaito artist, Lil G (Canada), Steezy, and K.S.F (EL Mondae and Maluzing), and Thorne.
Hip-Hop Mosaic (Induced Drag) is available for streaming on Soundcloud. According to KLAP this is not just an album but a piece of art for hip hop heads with a bit of social commentary and material that the average man, woman, and child can identify with. KLAP (Kasi Lami Art Platform) is a collective of individual artists independent of each other yet utilizing each other’s strengths to push products of immense diversity. Established in 2013, KLAP already has two Zimbabwe Hip hop Award nominations, one ZIMA (Zimbabwe Music Award) nomination from just two compilations. This release will be the official KLAP album, with a good dose of international and local (Zimbabwe) collaborations.
The second track on ‘Hip hop Mosaic (induced Drag)’ has Phill D on the vocals with an amazing performance on the track entitled “It’s Our Time”. The production is outstanding, Steey, Fresh T, Throne, 2Dope, Maluzing, Elmonde, Lady Thug and PoZee Younga’s flow and delivery is sublime. P2daoh’s production technique on the whole project was undoubtedly raw and resonates with authentic hip-hop styles that capture the essence of the genre.
