The multitalented Larry Kwirirayi born 3 March 1981 is a Zimbabwean writer, actor, voice actor, playwright, scriptwriter. blogger, digital strategist, radio presenter and podcaster. The founding editor of the NAMA Award-nominated blog ‘Three Men On A Boat’ and the voice of the weekly podcast, the #KwiriCast.

The multitalented Larry Kwirirayi is a creative with who showcases his talents through the profile of his work. As an actor, Kwirirayi was nominated the The Prentice Trophy for Best Performance in a Minor Role for his portrayal of Johnny Casino in the Rep’s Production of the hit musical Grease in 2008. A member of the found- ing cast of the hugely successful Impro Show. Kwirirayi along with Musekiwa Samuriwo wrote all three seasons of the VOA Studio 7 commissioned Kwataffy, also serving as a voice actor for one of the main characters.

Furthermore, he went on to write a play that was performed in Stan Makuwe’s 24-hour Theatre Challenge. That went on to win the people’s choice award after getting a huge reception from the audience. Currently, Larry has a radio programme on ZiFM Stereo Kwanthuthu Arts managed to catch up with the creative Larry kwirirayi to talk about get to know more about the man himself and his radio show.

How would you describe yourself?
I never really know how to answer this one much like that question, ‘tell us about yourself. I mean, where does one start? I let other people do the describing.

What is the driving force behind 3-mob.com?
A story needs to be told and it must make sense, hence the interpretation of what happened.

What issues are you passionate about?
Just the truth and people’s opinions on matters. Life is too huge an experience to obsess about something overly specific.

Shed some light on your radio programme?
It is a show on ZiFM Stereo called The Switch and is powered by an entertainment company called The Movement. It gives you a little a bit of this and that and great music. Every Friday between 6.30pm and 7pm.

Who are your favourite local musicians or bands?
Mokoomba have to right up there. Love Ammara Brown too. Cal_Vin has my attention too. Sam Mtukudzi, peerless.

What is success according to you?
Being able to get a good night’s sleep.

What advice would you give youths wishing to follow in your footsteps?
Create your own path.
